T minus 10 days

So with only 10 days until the 8 Barrel system gets installed, on Sunday I was still brewing up a storm in my garage and working hard on a another new recipe. This brew is something a little different than our current offerings, I've made a Red IPA, which has a lovely mix of malts with half and half Pale/Munich to give it its strong red colour, combined with a good volume and variety of hops, so come tasting time its sure to be a malty, yet hoppy beer.

When this beer is ready to be kegged, I will upload some photos and some more information for you on it, so keep an eye out.

We've already got our first two beers lined up ready for launch, Interstellar and Rogue, these are almost ready to go so look out for them in a bar near you from mid March.

I'm finding that in the last few days as we build up to the brewery opening I've been reflecting on how and where it all started. I can remember sitting on a freezer in the garage at home, with of course a beer in hand, dreaming of the idea of one day opening a brewery and getting my beers and ideas out into the world and not just for mine and my friends and family's pleasure, and here we are with the reality of it setting in, only 10 days to go and I will be moving away from my 48 litre garage setup to a commercial 8 Barrel System – that's 1300 litres a brew!

I'd like to finish by saying the current setup I have in my garage, where it all started, is and was truly a great system and none of it would have been possible if it wasn't for my soon to be father-in-law Geoff Blackburne. He managed to take my 2D drawing, and with his incredible craftsmanship, vision and support turned the garage into a brewery and has allowed this 5 year evolution to happen.

I will write another post on this subject as there is so much more to say on this journey, but for now a massive thank you.

Roll on the 20th!
